San Diego Solar Power Initiative
San Diego staffing companies to lead recruitment efforts for the region’s latest clean energy venture

SAN DIEGO, December 9, 2011 — The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies and its Green Talent Staffing division have been selected to provide staffing services for a San Diego-based solar module manufacturing project led by France-based Soitec, a world leader in generating and manufacturing revolutionary semiconductor materials for electronic and energy industries.
Eastridge and Green Talent have already started to recruit for Soitec’s launch team consisting of at least forty new positions for its San Diego factory. Positions to be filled include engineering, maintenance and manufacturing leads for the manufacturing facility.

The Group recently received regulatory approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the regulatory Commission for public services in the state of California, for its five power purchase agreements concluded with San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E). These five projects represent a total capacity of 155 megawatts (MW) of solar energy, the electricity being generated by the solar power plants in the San Diego region thanks to the photovoltaic technology by Soitec’s Concentrix™ (CPV). At the November 15 meeting, the Soitec Board of Directors decided to immediately implement the investment program relating to set up its solar system production and assembly capacities to be delivered for these different projects. The decision involves the acquisition of an industrial building in San Diego and the purchase of the equipment for an annual assembly capacity of 100 MW with the confirmation that more than 200 MW may be carried, subject to confirmation of other projects expected in the upcoming months.
The manufacturing facility alone is projected to produce 450 direct jobs and over 1,000 indirect jobs for the county.
In addition to partnering with Soitec, Eastridge and Green Talent will recruit for Reflexite Soitec Optical Technology, a joint venture formed with Soitec and Reflexite Energy Solutions, a U.S.-based global supplier of microstructured optics components for the lighting, solar power, instrumentation, and display industries. This unique alliance will produce silicone-on-glass (SOG) Fresnel lens plates, a key component used in Soitec’s CPV modules. The joint venture will be located within the new manufacturing facility.
