SAN DIEGO – Aug. 10, 2010 – Focused on providing candidates with employment opportunities and enrichment through work, The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies successfully launched the GATE Training Program (Gateway to Attaining Technical Experience). Five months post-launch, GATE Program participants are excelling in their new career paths at Alere (www.alere.com), an innovator in medical diagnostics.
“We hired about 20 new employees from Eastridge’s program and these workers were fully trained within a few weeks, instead of a few months,” Marcellus Kendrick, Senior Manufacturing Manager at Alere said. “I’m also finding these employees have a lower turnover rate than our non-GATE hires.”
Over 75 percent of GATE program participants are currently employed and working for the Eastridge’s Light Industrial division clients. Those who have been assigned are receiving wages up to 9 percent higher than competitive wages.
“GATE Program participants are successful because they are thoroughly screened, trained and tested before they even set foot in their new workplace,” Carol Albert, Eastridge Director of Operations said. “The pre-screening and advanced training all add up to employees who are well-prepared for their new positions.”
