Hire-A-Youth Program (HAY)
The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies is proud to be a part of the Hire-A-Youth Program (HAY), sponsored by the San Diego Workforce Partnership and the San Diego Regional EDC. Eastridge works to provide back office support and third party payroll for companies involved with HAY, allowing them and our youth to enjoy mutually beneficial partnerships without the hassle of administration duties or costs.
The HAY program provides employment opportunities to youth ages 16 to 24. The program connects participants to meaningful career pathways, provides insight into various industries and professions and offers training throughout the course of the program.
The program yields positive benefits for both the youth and participating companies. Young workers receive financial compensation and gain valuable work experience as a result of HAY. Companies’ benefit through the work provided by participants, who receive work readiness training on the job, often times joining the company at the completion of the program.

Meet Alicia Dixon 2011 HAY Participant
Alicia’s Story:
It’s not easy being a young student, juggling work and fulfilling the duties of being a single mother of three. I appreciate the HAY program for giving me the opportunity to strengthen my skills and expand my knowledge of new things.
From the first day I began the HAY program, I knew I was in the right place. Since working here I have been able to reach out to other young interns, letting them know what it takes to be work-oriented. I like to think of myself as a mentor as well as a young educator.
The Hire-A-Youth program has made a wonderful impact on my life, as well as on the lives of other young teens and adults. The HAY program encourages us to be the best we can and to strive to reach new horizons. I can truly say that the HAY program is making a difference in my community.
